A $5 Billion Dollar Moon is Landing in Dubai
According to Architectural Digest, the proposed moon resort in Dubai lets you experience space travel from Earth.
In the alluring city of Dubai, anything is possible if you have enough money. The moonwalk, or at the very least reserving a luxurious room, can now be added as another bucket list item. Moon World Resorts, a daring Canadian architectural firm, proposed plans this week to build a $5 billion, 735-foot resort inspired by Earth’s orbiting cousin.
The initiative aims to make space tourism more accessible to people without affiliations to self-proclaimed Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos. Moon World Resorts Inc envisages this idea a little closer to home – you’d only have to travel to Dubai. Inside, visitors will discover a full-service resort as well as about 300 private homes known as sky villas that are for sale.
However, the major attraction isn’t a hotel room or dance floor, but a lunar surface simulation that gives visitors an empirical sense of space exploration. The company aspires to make MOON a viable training field for various space organizations.
Executing the project will cost billions of dollars, just like a moon resort in outer space, or any actual intergalactic travel. At least 2.5 million visitors per year will be able to comfortably accommodate the two-year construction plan, with an anticipated $1.8 billion in annual revenue.
Ferrari Takes Centre Stage with its first-ever ‘SUV’
Whether you like them or not, the super SUV age is well underway. Suffice it to say that the past couple of decades of Porsche, Maserati, Bentley, Lamborghini, and even Lotus SUVs have adequately prepared us for this day: A Ferrari SUV. Here is the Ferrari Purosangue in all its grandeur.
Ferrari, an iconic Italian exotic car manufacturer has immersed itself into the super-SUV market with the Purosangue. A 6.5 dry-sump V12 engine positioned front-mid on the newest Prancing Horse produces 715 horsepower and 528 lb-ft of torque. It also features some breathtaking suicide doors.
Enzo Ferrari purportedly vowed never to produce a four-door car, but in a shifting market where nearly 80% of vehicles are trucks, SUVs, even a venerable brand must adapt. And although it doesn’t call it an SUV, the $400,000 (estimated base price) Purosangue is just that.
The Purosangue, which translates to “thoroughbred,” is a fitting name for a brand whose emblem features a horse, and a definite indication that the company wants everyone to know that its first SUV will still be a Ferrari through and through.
Pre-orders for the Purosangue – which features a brand-new chassis with a single-shell, carbon-fibre roof to lower its centre of gravity – have likely exceeded more than 2,000 units already, and the first set is scheduled to arrive in the US by the end of 2023.
