A New Year Address from the Group Managing Director, Sujimoto Group
For us at Sujimoto Group, the year just concluded was not merely another chapter in our corporate journey. It was a defining season — one that tested our resolve, refined our vision, and demanded leadership anchored in discipline, clarity, and courage. It reminded us that true progress is not forged in comfort, but under pressure; and that what is built with conviction endures.
The beginning of a new year is always a moment of quiet significance. It offers us the rare opportunity to pause — to look back with honesty, stand firmly in the present, and look ahead with intention.
History has never favoured the easy path. It belongs to the few visionaries who, under pressure, endured, adapted, and persisted. Today, as we reflect on the year behind us, we see not merely buildings and balance sheets, but the human spirit — tested, refined, and unbroken. “Pressure no fit burst correct pipe.” These are not borrowed words; they are lived truth, etched into every steel beam, every brick, and every plan that carries the audacity of Sujimoto.
What distinguishes this season is not that pressure existed, but that it was confronted without dilution of standards. In an environment where retreat is often disguised as prudence, we chose resolve. Where compromise is frequently justified as realism, we chose conviction. We did not lower ambition to fit conditions; we strengthened systems to withstand them. That choice — to build correctly rather than conveniently — is the quiet audacity behind every structure that bears the Sujimoto name.

A YEAR THAT TESTED OUR STRENGTH
The past year was not without its challenges. Operating within a complex and evolving economic environment, Sujimoto encountered pressures that required not just strategic thinking, but emotional endurance and restraint. There were moments when the easy choice was not the right choice, and when progress required patience rather than speed. It was a year that reminded us that growth is rarely linear and that leadership is often forged in moments of uncertainty rather than comfort. Yet, through every challenge, one belief remained constant: vision must be protected, even when it is tested.
At Sujimoto, we did not retreat from our standards. We did not abandon our long-term outlook. Instead, we leaned into responsibility, reviewing our structures, reassessing our priorities, and making deliberate, sometimes difficult decisions to safeguard the future of the Group.
DISCIPLINE OVER NOISE, CLARITY OVER COMFORT
What carried us through this season was not momentum alone, but discipline. Not noise, but focus. Not shortcuts, but structure. Not optimism without action, but faith anchored in execution. This period reaffirmed an important truth: real progress is often quiet. It is built patiently, one disciplined step at a time, through consistency, accountability, and the courage to keep moving forward even when applause is absent. Resilience, we learned, is not loud. It is the daily commitment to show up, to solve problems, and to keep building, especially when the path ahead is demanding.
GRATITUDE TO THE PEOPLE WHO HELD THE LINE
I extend my deepest appreciation to our people. To our staff across all levels of the organization, thank you for your professionalism, resilience, and belief in the Sujimoto vision. Organizations do not endure because of structures alone; they endure because of people who choose diligence, integrity, and excellence, the D.I.E values, even in difficult seasons. To our investors, clients, partners, and stakeholders, your trust has not been taken for granted. Trust is most meaningful when it is tested, and your continued confidence strengthens our resolve to deliver responsibly, transparently, and sustainably.
A CLEAR-EYED VIEW OF THE YEAR AHEAD
As we step into the new year, we do so with clarity, not illusion. We are not claiming perfection. We are not declaring the journey complete. We are not suggesting that challenges no longer exist. What we are affirming is progress. Where we are today is stronger than where we were. We are wiser from experience, more focused on strategy, and better positioned for the work ahead. The months before us will demand continued discipline, execution, and accountability. Our priorities are clear: strengthening our foundations, meeting our obligations, refining our processes, and positioning the Group for long-term stability and growth. We approach the year with realism, measured optimism, and confidence in the steps we are taking.
LEADERSHIP ROOTED IN RESPONSIBILITY
At Sujimoto, leadership has never been about appearances or convenience. It has always been about responsibility; to our people, our partners, our clients, and the communities we serve. Leadership, I believe, is standing firm in values when conditions are difficult. It is making decisions that stand the test of time. It is understanding when to pause, when to pivot, and when to press forward with conviction.
MOVING INTO THE NEW YEAR WITH PURPOSE
The new year does not promise ease, but it offers opportunity. Opportunity to build better. To operate smarter. To strengthen trust. To lead with integrity. To move forward with purpose. As we embrace the year ahead, we do so with gratitude for how far we have come, humility about the work that remains, and unwavering belief in what we are building. The journey continues, not without challenges, but with clarity, courage, and conviction. We move forward together.
Happy New Year!
